Muc Off cleaning kit comprising of different brush types and a drawstring bag tidy.

Cost about £18

Keeping your bike clean in the wet winter months can be an issue so it is worth having a good set of cleaning brushes to hand. The Muck Off cleaning kit comprises of five different brushes all with different specific purposes for cleaning your bike, included in the set are the following...
1 x Claw Brush, 1 x Detailing Brush, 1 x Two Prong Brush, 1 x Wheel & Component Brush, 1 x Soft Washing Brush and a mesh bag to keep all the brushes in for storage. The brushes all seem very well made and have a good finish and "grippy" rubber handles which makes hard scrubbing that much more comfortable. The combination of the different brush types are designed to clean your frame, wheels and all component parts of the bike without damage to finish.

Two Park Toni detail brushes.

Cost about £6

You can never have to much cleaning equipment for your bike so a couple of extra brushes always come in handy. These two relatively cheap brushes are made by Park Toni, (at least that is the name on the brush handles). I can't remember exactly where or when I picked up these two brushes but I have had them some years and they are still going strong. One is a standard wheel cleaning bristle brush, the other has softer bristles and a foam type scourer pad for lighter cleaning detail. Similar brushes to these can be found in most car/bike accessories shop.

Nikwax Leather
Restorer:

Nikwax leather restorer. Spray on waterproofing for use on leather clothing and accessories.

Cost about £7

My Sidi B2 Gore-Tex waterproof motorcycle boots where starting to look a bit on the dirty side so I decided to buy some proper leather restorer that is suitable for breathable Gore-Tex lined clothing and footware. I bought the Nikwax leather restorer from a bike shop rather than the internet as I was in the shop at the time therefore it cost a bit more, (£6.99). I have found it for less than £4 online but that did not include delivery costs. For best results always clean the boots first with a damp cloth and some water. No need to dry boots before waterproofing with the leather restorer.
1. Protect working surface with old sheet or newspaper.
2. Hold bottle 15 cm away from the boots.
3. Apply evenly to outside of the boots.
4. Wait for couple of minutes to let the leather restorer penetrate the leather.
5. Remove any surplus leather restorer and rub in well with a lint free cloth.

Touch Up Paint:

Bike Colour Yamaha Power Blue touch up paint matched to the manufacturers original paint colour.

Cost about £12

Not really a cleaning product but I was unsure into what category to place touch up paint. I decided that as it added to the look and appearance of the bike this category was as good as any other. I searched everywhere for a touch up paint in Yamaha Power Blue and finally came across this from "Bike Colours" online listed as a colour for the 2007 Yamaha Fazer F1, (no 2009 Yamaha Fazer FZ6 listed but it is the same colour). Used to touch in scratches and paint chips it is quite an important part of keeping the bike looking good as it will prevent rust and corrosion setting in. The Clear coat bottle is the lacquer that is used to finish off the job once the coloured coat is finished.
