Xerapol
I managed to pick up a few scratches on certain parts of the bike, the wind screen being the main area of concern so I purchased this Xerapol plastic polish to see if it would remove them. It seems to work OK on very fine scratches but you really have to work it hard to make the see through plastics transparent without making them seem cloudy. It is not much good on deep scratches unless you do some pre-work on the plastic with various grades of fine emery paper, again a lot of effort is needed to get the plastic back to anything decent looking. Ambersil Amberclens
Ambersil Amberclens is a general purpose anti-static foaming cleaner aerosol ideal for general cleaning on a wide variety of surfaces. It will remove tough stubborn stains such as grease, grime, and dirt. Safe for use on plastics, metals, painted and glazed surfaces it means it can be used with confidence on most areas of my motorbike without fear of damaging the surfaces. It's anti-static formulation, reduces the attraction of airborne dust and particles. Using Ambersil Amberclens foaming anti-static cleaner is quick and easy, you simply spray on, wait a few seconds then wipe off. You can also spray it directly on to a cloth and then use it to clean dirty surfaces. Used more on the plastic components on my bike it gives good results, cleaning of the the metallic parts does not give shiny results although it does well in removing road tar and grime so is therefore useful as a preliminary cleaner for metal. Metal Polish
I bought a tin of this stuff from the £1 shop years ago for cleaning silver jewelry and have found it to be a useful polish on pretty much all metals around the home. Expanding on this I could not see any reason why I could not use it on my motorbike and has proven to do just as well cleaning stainless steel and some plastics. Harrington's metal polish wadding is pretty much the same as Duraglit, (which in turn is now branded under the "Brasso" name as "Duraglit Brasso Metal Polish") only the Harrington's polish is much cheaper. Harrington's metal polish wadding has been formulated to clean brass, copper, silver, chrome, tin, stainless steel and other similar metals and materials with a non-abrasive solvent on a cotton wadding. Profi
Profi dry lube chain spray produces a dry lubricating film that is non-greasy or sticky therefore it does not flick off of the chain on to other parts of the bike because the metal surfaces of the chain are dry sealed. It has been developed for use with O, W, X, Z and Quad-ring chains and because it is grease free it does not attract dirt and other grit particles. No chain cleaner is required after the first application, simply give the chain a good clean before the first use then every so often a quick wipe with a cloth and re-apply another coat of Profi dry lube. It is available in two can sizes, 400ml and 150ml the smaller being a handy travel sized can which works out more expensive than the 400ml can at £6.99. Interesting Points.

Auto-Glym
Auto-Glym Super resin polish will remove harmful surface contaminants when used periodically. It leaves a tough glossy barrier that protects paintwork from the harsh environment. Ideal for use on any colour it can be used safely on all types of paintwork including metallic, water based and lacquered finishes, so pretty much any surface type. If there is a criticism to be made it is that it does not perform to well when applied to hot or in the sun surfaces and takes a long time to polish out streaks. Add a drop of Auto-Glym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner to the water when washing your vehicle and it will assist in removing road dirt and traffic film. This will help in preserving the overall finish and appearance of the vehicle especially when used in conjunction with Auto-Glym's Super Resin Polish, (see above). Not sure if is designed for it but I found that using the Auto-Glym Leather Care Cream on my Vega Drystar waterproof gloves seemed to make the leather parts more resistant to water and made them more supple at the same time. I took care only to apply the cleaner to the leather parts of the glove as I was not sure how it could affect the fabric. Claiming to replace lost essential oils to the leather caused by evaporation I did not see that it could do any harm. Part Of A Four Bottle Kit Which Also Included:

When a toothbrush has reached the end of it's normal working life for cleaning teeth they are usually discarded and replaced with new ones. The old ones however are very useful as small scrubbing brushes for getting into those hard to reach areas on a motorbike. This can minimise having to strip down panels and fairing just to get to awkward places for cleaning and as the old toothbrush was going to be discarded anyway it does not matter what condition it gets in as a replacement will be on it's way by way of the next discarded toothbrush. Advantages.
