1700 Milliampere-Hour.

These Uniross rechargeable AA Ni-MH, (Nickel Metal Hydride) 1700 mAh, (Milliampere-Hour) batteries are available to buy in any good electrical store. They are far superior in power and stamina to the old Nickel Cadmium, (Ni-Cd) batteries, which makes them an ideal choice for use with digital cameras or any high power electrical goods.
Costing about £10 at the time of purchase you can now get much higher powered AA Ni-MH batteries, (up to 3200 mAh) for even less money.
Being able to recharge them for a thousand times, (approximately) it makes them more cost effective than normal AA Alkaline batteries.

600 Milliampere-Hour.

These Uniross rechargeable AAA Ni-MH 600 mAh batteries have a similar story to the AA Ni-MH batteries. Higher in power and lasting longer than the Ni-Cd batteries makes them an obvious choice when maximum power is needed for your electrical appliance.
Once again they are now available in a higher power rating than 600 mAh and at a cheaper cost that at the time of purchasing these batteries.
As with the AA Ni-MH batteries being able to recharge them a thousand times makes them more cost effective than normal AAA Alkaline batteries.

Battery Specifications:

Purchase Price Around £25
With 4 AA Batteries Included.

The Uniross Sprint 1-2 hour Charger is capable of charging two battery cells in one hour or four battery cells in two hours as the name suggests, the unit is switch able for the number of batteries being charged (two or four).
The unit comes supplied with four Uniross Ni-MH 1700mAh batteries, a 12 Volt car socket power adapter and a 110-240 Volt self switching mains adapter which means it can be used almost anywhere in any country.
It will also charge AA or AAA sized Ni-Cd, (Nickel-Cadmium) or Ni-MH, (Nickel-Metal Hydride) battery types and will auto detect the type of battery to be charged so no switching is required although mixed battery type and size charging cannot be performed.
The unit also auto detects when the batteries are fully charged at which point it will stop charging.
Note: The number of batteries being charged should all be of the same power rating.

Sony Ni-MH Battery Charger
AA or AAA Size:

Picture Coming Soon.

Purchased With
Sony Cybershot DSC-W1.

The Sony Ni-MH AA or AAA Battery Charger came complete with power cable as part of the Sony Cybershot DSC-W1 camera kit. Able to charge 4 batteries of either size, (AA or AAA) at a time in about 2 hours. This charger as far as I can tell can only charge Ni-MH batteries and is therefore no good for lithium ion or Nickel Cadmium batteries although Ni-Cd are pretty naff batteries to use these days anyway, certainly not much use in a digital camera.

Charger Specifications:

Primary Power Supply: AC 110-240V ~ 50/60Hz 3W, Auto Switching.
Secondary Power Supply: N/A
Power Input: AC 110-240V ~ 50/60Hz
Power Output: DC 1.4 Volts.
Charging Current 1: AA 400mA x 2.
Charging Current 2: AAA 160mA x 2.

Dimensions: 70mm x 90mm x 30mm.

Fujifilm NH20 AAA
Battery Pack:

Fujifilm Supplied AAA Battery Pack.

Included With The
Fujifilm Finepix F420 Camera.

The Fujifilm NH20 AAA Battery Pack is basically two AAA batteries stuck together in a specific fashion so as to fit in the camera battery compartment in only one possible orientation, this means it is impossible to load them the wrong way round unless you load them using a sledge hammer! You can of course also use 2 normal AAA batteries so you are not limited to buying the special Fujifilm brand. Rated at 700mAh they last slightly longer than the 600mAh powered batteries but were you to replace them you would find the cost rather high in comparison to normal Ni-mh AAA batteries.

Battery Specifications:

Battery Size: Adjoined AAA / R03 / Micro.
Battery Type: Ni-MH (Nickel-Metal Hydride).
Power Rating: 700 mAh, (Milliampere-Hour).
Recharge Count: 1000 Times Approximately.
Nominal Voltage: 1.2 Volts (Each Cell), 2.4 Volts Total.
Terminal Type Top: Positive (+) Nub Cylinder End. (Each Cell).
Terminal Type Base: Negative (-) Flat Opposite End. (Each Cell).
Dimensions: 45mm x 10.5mm x 22mm.

Fujifilm BC-NH20 AAA
Battery Charger:

Fujifilm BC-NH20 AAA Battery Charger

Included With The
Fujifilm Finepix F420 Camera.

The Battery Charger for the NH-20 Ni-MH Rechargeable Battery came as part of the camera kit for the Fujifilm Finepix F420 as did the NH20 AAA Battery Pack, this also included a figure of eight mains cable as you would expect. Charging a battery pack from a completely drained state to full power takes about 3 hours. Again the battery pack can only be placed in the charger one way round due to the "idiot proof" lug on the battery pack.
This charger can be used to charge 2 normal AAA size Ni-MH batteries if required!

Charger Specifications:

Primary Power Supply: AC 110-240V ~ 50/60Hz, 0.044-0.027A, 4.4-6.4VA
Secondary Power Supply: N/A.
Power Input: AC 110-240V ~ 50/60Hz
Power Output: 1.2 Volts.

Charging Current 2: N/A.
Charge Time: 3 Hours Approximately.
Number Of Charge Cells: Two, AAA Combined Or AAA Single Cells.
Dimensions: 67mm x 65mm x 25mm.

Olympus PS-BLM-1, BLM-1
Lithium Ion Battery:

Olympus Litium Ion BLM-1 Battery.

Purchase Price Around £60
For A Genuine Olympus BLM-1.

The Olympus PS-BLM-1, BLM-1 Lithium Ion Battery is designed to specifically fit Olympus cameras and therefore has no particular size allocated to it apart from the BLM-1 reference, this battery fits both my Olympus E-500 DSLR and my Olympus E-510 DSLR cameras.
Charge time from a full discharged battery takes approximately two hours with a genuine Olympus BLM-1 battery charger but there are others on the market that do the job just as well.
The genuine Olympus BLM-1 battery is priced quite high for what it is, (somewhere in the region of £60 each) but there are other branded makes available for as little as £10.
I purchased a couple of branded spares and have had no trouble with them and they have compared in performance to the original BLM-1 supplied with the camera.

Battery Specifications:

Battery Size: N/A.
Battery Type: Lithium Ion.
Power Rating: 1500 mAh, (Milliampere-Hour).
Recharge Count: Unknown.

Battery Charger:

Olympus BCM-2 Lithium Ion Battery Charger

Purchase Price Around £70
For A Genuine Olympus BCM-2.

The Olympus BCM-2 Lithium Ion Battery Charger is designed to specifically charge the Olympus BLM-1 Lithium Ion battery and is therefore a single use dedicated charger as it cannot be used in conjunction with other types of battery. Fortunately you get one of these and a battery as part of the Olympus E510 camera kit as the charger alone could set you back some £70 if you had to buy a genuine one or you could risk cheaper off the market replicas.

Charger Specifications:

Primary Power Supply: AC 110-240V ~ 50/60Hz, 12-16VA, 400mA.
Secondary Power Supply: N/A
Power Input: AC 110-240V ~ 50/60Hz.

Sony NP-BG1 Lithium Ion Battery.

Purchase Price Around £26
For A Genuine Sony NP-BG1.

The Sony Lithium Ion Battery came as part of the camera kit along with a charger and lead with the Sony Cybershot DCSW-170s. Boasting longer life to recharging than Ni-MH batteries these seem to be the better battery type to use and as a consequence they cost more as well. £26 will get you a genuine Sony NP-BG1 battery, no off the market replicas found as yet but I am sure some cheaper versions will become available in time..

Battery Specifications:

Battery Size: N/A.
Battery Type: Lithium Ion Type G.
Power Rating: 960 mAh, (Milliampere-Hour).
Recharge Count: Unknown.
Nominal Voltage: 3.6 Volts

Purchase Price Around £65
For A Genuine Sony BC-CSGC.

The Sony BC-CSGC Lithium Ion battery charger came as part of the Sony Cybershot DCSW-170s camera kit along with a NP-BG1 battery and power lead. Again a single use dedicated charger it cannot be used to charge any other type of battery apart from the Sony NP-FG1 NP-FG1 battery which is apparently a slightly higher powered version of the NP-BG1 rated at 1200mAH.

Charger Specifications:

Primary Power Supply: AC 110-240V ~ 50/60Hz, 4-7VA, 2W.
Secondary Power Supply: N/A.
