Miranda CTB-24

The Miranda CTB-24 flashgun is designed for use with SLR cameras and not DSLR cameras although it can be used manually in conjunction with slave units as stand alone light sources. The flash unit is best used in manual mode, (indicated by a white dot on the slider switch at the front of the flashgun) the aperture value is attained from the range on the scale at the rear of the flashgun, (there are also two auto ranges indicated by a blue and red band). For example to manually set the aperture when at ISO 100 and at a distance of 4.3 Meters the aperture should be set to ƒ5.6, likewise a distance of 3 Meters returns an aperture setting of ƒ8. Being fairly lightweight the FL-36 is compact in design but still a powerful unit. The flash unit can be adjusted by 1/3EV-steps for light metering precision required for digital photography. With a Guide Number of 20 at a focal length of 12mm at ISO 100, (equal to 24mm in 35mm film terms) and a Guide Number of 36 at a focal length of 42mm, (equal to 84mmin 35mm film terms), this flash unit is well-suited for general photography needs. Square Style
|
Ideal for use with older flash units that cannot be directly attached to the camera but still useful as "fill in" flash units this slave unit attaches to the flashgun by means of a hotshoe socket. The slave unit can then be placed in a strategic position with the flash unit in range of the trigger light source. It can be left free standing or can be mounted to a tripod or stand using the 1/4" UNC thread in the base of the slave unit. This slave unit is more limited in its possitioning as there is no cable link option to the flash unit so the sensor has to be sited with the flash unit.
For more information on slave units see the Slave Units section on the Techno page.
