It's coming up to another 20th Anniversary of Gradius.

Gradius III ~ Densetsu kara Shinwa e ~

Celebrate the twentieth anniversary in style.

Gradius II ~ GOFER no Yabou ~ was very playable but just one year past and this game was born.

Amazing music, impossible gameplay, large varied stages, weapon edit, large plants, sand worms, this game has it all.

I first played the game in an Arcade in Herne Bay in Kent back in 1991, I could never get past the third stage and when I did once, I crash into a wall on the 3D stage then had no weapons on the Moai Stage, suffice to say I was dead in a few seconds.

So go now and play it today as is still the most annoying and impossibly challenging Gradius available.

The fire world was my burial place in the past, but maybe I'll do a little better on my next session...still, aside from the difficulty, this was a great Arcade game, though personally I like II better. The SNES version of III is still my favorite of all, though.

This game has handed many a player their behinds, including mine, here's to 20 years of Gradius 3 destroying players, and many more years of it doing the same. :)

Well, I played it yesterday. Got all of the way to Big Core Mk III without losing a single life. Got hit by one of the lasers during the second half of the fight, and things went downhill from there. That is a boss that NEEDS slowdown.

The third stage - In the Wind and Underground is just evil, it puts you way to far back when you die on the boss, definitely easier with all your weapons as the boss slows down making the diagonal laser easier to dodge.

In other news, I just found this, ~~Big Core Mk III~~ Big Core Mk II from Yu-Gi-Oh!

That's actually Big Core Mk II. Mk III card is not present yet.

Actually there was a rumor that new Big Core Mk III card is coming in newest pack 'ABSOLUTE POWERFORCE', but sadly it was not true......
