This machine look the part in Japan but when they released it in the west it looked like a shoe box, lots of games came out for this and was quite a huge hit in the US, here in the UK it had quite a lot more competition from Sega Master System and the home computers (Spectrum, C64, Amstrad). I think the biggest problem was the cost of the games, the games were about £30 each!, you could buy quite a few games for the home computers for that sort of money.
