Not so difficult, first thing to do save all your controls in one array
Code:
control[1]=vk_left
control[2]=vk_right
control[3]=vk_up
and so on with down, fire, missile, what you want.
In your "selection menu" use a selection variable, ex. "selection" and set it in create to 0.
When you need to change a control:
Code:
if keyboard_check(vk_anykey) && selection != 0
control[selection] = keyboard_lastkey;
So if selection is 1 you will change left control, if it's 2 right control and so on, when you exit set again selection to 0.
In your ship controls:
Code:
if keyboard_check(control[1])
//go to left
if keyboard_check(control[2])
//go to right
etc. hope this help.
(If you want then you can save all controls in one .ini files, using ini_read and ini_write.)

Stage 3 has been completed, progress are slow at the moment, I hope in summer to work faster, probably a new person will be added to cooperate with me for original sound effects and music, I will let you to know as soon as possible.

Now, I'd like to find some beta-tester, 2 or 3 persons maximum, if anyone is interested please send me a private message, new demo with 3 stages and 2 players co-op will be available to who wants to test it.
Credits will be given. I hope for example Tetran will join this, as he is a very good beta tester.

At least it's nice to see someone is making progress. Gradius: The Dark Armada hasn't had any work done on it for several months. I'll have to get to work to AT LEAST finish Stage 2 by the end of the month.

There will be a secret stage (named "Bacterion stage") and 2 bonus stages:
If you play in easy mode you can play only 3 stages (but however you can play the secret stage, so...), if you play in normal you can play 6 stages plus first bonus stage (ending 1, named "good end"), in hard mode you can play 6 stages and the second bonus stage (ending 2, named "perfect end").
Ok, last thing, there will be also one ending 3, named "bad end"... 'nuff said!
